Terms & Conditions
The terms on which we provide quotes and carry out work.
Last updated: January 2026
About us
These terms apply to all work carried out by Quality Kiwi Carpentry Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14786705, with its registered office at 276 Peterborough Road, Carshalton, England, SM5 1DN. We are registered for VAT under number GB 441210353. You can contact us on 07548 132715 or at qualitykiwicarpentry@gmail.com. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Quality Kiwi Carpentry Ltd, and "you" means the customer.
Quotes and prices
We provide a free site visit and a written, itemised quote before any work begins. Unless stated otherwise, a quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued. All prices include VAT at the prevailing rate. A quote is based on the work and materials discussed at the time. If the scope of the work changes, or if additional work is needed that could not reasonably have been foreseen (for example, problems found once existing structures are opened up), we will discuss this with you and agree any change in price before continuing.
Deposits and payment
For larger-scale works we may ask for a deposit before work begins, with the amount set out in your quote. This covers materials ordered specifically for your project. The balance is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed a stage-payment schedule with you in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer or cheque. Our bank details are provided on your invoice.
Carrying out the work
We will agree a start date with you and aim to keep to the timescales discussed. Timescales are estimates given in good faith and may be affected by matters outside our control, such as the weather, the supply of materials, or the availability of other trades. We will keep you informed of any changes. You agree to provide reasonable access to the property and, where relevant, access to power and water so the work can be carried out.
Workmanship guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for six months from the date the work is completed. If a fault arising from our workmanship appears within that period, we will put it right at no cost to you. This guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, accident or neglect, work or alterations carried out by others after we have finished, or normal movement and settlement of the building. Materials, fittings and appliances are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, which we will pass on to you where applicable.
Insurance
We hold public and products liability insurance of £2,000,000 for any one incident, professional indemnity cover of £100,000, and financial loss cover of £100,000, arranged through Trade Direct Insurance and underwritten by Zurich Insurance Co Ltd. A copy of our certificate is available on request.
Your right to cancel
Where you are a consumer and the contract is agreed away from our business premises (for example, at your home), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin work within that period and then cancel, you may be required to pay for work already carried out and materials already ordered. To cancel, simply let us know using the contact details above.
Liability
We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Subject to that, our liability for any loss arising from the work is limited to the value of the work carried out.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, please ask before work begins. We are always happy to talk through the details so you know exactly where you stand.
